Short-Term Nursing and Rehabilitation in Shelby Township, MI

My mom, who is a senior, stayed at Regency at Shelby Township for PT and OT following an infection. She had a private room with a very large window. This was excellent news for us as she struggles with Sundowner’s. If she does not see the outdoors and the changes from day to night, she becomes disoriented and confused. The private room was beneficial because she didn’t have a roommate that leaves the TV on 24/7 impacting her sleep. The staff was quite responsive and they were always very nice. They genuinely seemed to care for the patients. The food was decent for a nursing facility. It’s a challenge serving so many people and keeping the food hot and fresh. The menu was different each day, and it was available on the TV for the patients to see what their next meal was. Each week, there was a selection of 5 or 6 alternate meals if they didn’t like the main menu item. The alternates were basic foods like hot dogs, hamburgers, PB&J sandwiches, lunch meat sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, or a slice of pizza. That ensured there would always be something for a patient to eat. I will definitely consider Regency at Shelby Township in the future if my mom needs that level of care.

I did not know what to expect but I was very satisfied with the stay. I would highly recommend the Regency. Small issue with the discharge process. But the rest of the stay was above my expectations.

A few months ago, my grandmother was there. Her stay was wonderful! Therapy was great and the social worker was awesome and helped us get her home safely. I would recommend Regency to anyone.

Regency and all of the staff took great care of my mother while she was there. This is the second time she has been at Regency and she was very happy with her plan to get her back on her feet and to be more independent. The facility is very clean and well maintained. Special thanks to Sean F for answering our many questions and working with us with a few of the hurdles we had along the way.

My Mother, staying at ‘Regency of Shelby’ (on 22 Mile Rd), in Shelby Township, has called out on several occasion the amazing compassion and patience that a Social Worker there named Sean Fitzgerald has given to Her. After talking with Him today it is easy to see why my Mom feels He is such a standout Employee, and a Blessing to Her. Regency of Shelby is lucky to have Sean .

The admissions Director was very good at explaining how the whole system worked at Regency at Shelby Township. The various departments were working together like clockwork. The different color of outfits indicated the function of an employee, I found that to be helpful when seeking a nurse; aide; manager; etc. The "Connected Care Center" was a particular useful and helpful tool as it allowed me to go online to find out what was happening at any time of the day --- no need to try to track down someone since many of my questions were already answered and posted. It is also a very east tool to use (I wish more medical institutions would use it). The whole organization was very sophisticated in the manner of treatment starting with diagnosis through remedy and subsequent release (I really felt they were all doing what they could for my brother). My brother also loved the food they made each day, if that means anything to someone trying to find a place for a finicky relative. I was very impressed with Regency at Shelby Township and would feel safe having someone taken there for Rehabilitation.

Everyone is very kind, caring, and attentive here. My mom had a stay here last year, and when she needed another stay at a rehab facility, we were very happy there was availability. The facility is clean & well taken care of. It was nice that the OT person even remembered my mom from last year!

My grandmother recently stayed at this location for roughly two months. The staff went above and beyond to make her stay comfortable. The place is very clean and well taken care of. Everyone I came in contact with was amazing. They made sure she was comfortable, cleaned and changed very often. Even if she wasn’t ready to be changed, they were still checking on her. They also were very attentive with visitors. Asking if I needed anything while I was there and often checking in to make sure I was okay as well. OT and PT worked great with her as well. Going in, she was non verbal, no movement on her right side (leg and arm) and not eating. Since coming home she can now say some words, eats on her own and can slightly move her right side and I have to say that was 100% because Regency worked with her to the fullest. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Please consider taking your loved ones here.
